Job Duties

  • Prepares and dispenses medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities;
  • Meds therapy management, including reviewing and monitoring of medication regimens, advising clinicians on evidence-based therapy as indicated, documenting interventions;
  • Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' work flow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying prescriptions; care coordination, identifying and resolving insurance related issues, recognizing situations where financial assistance can be applied;
  • Ensures adherence to all regulatory requirements, including 340B program compliance and medication safety protocols;
  • Make referrals to other health professionals if necessary;
  • Develops own knowledge by participating in education programs; training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and health care professionals;
  • Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications;
  • Apply observations and recommendations to operational issues, increased productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;
  • Identify trends, resolves problems; recommend improvements; implements change;
  • Actively participates in process improvement initiatives;
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential;
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations;

Experience/ Education

  • Applicant must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS in Pharmacy and be a licensed Pharmacist in the applicable state
  • Required 1+ years, Preferred 5+ years experience in a retail dispensing setting
  • Analyzing information, administering medication accurately, exercising good judgment, possessing strong verbal communication skills, having deep knowledge of pharmacology developments and FDA health regulations, able to manage processes, exhibiting strong technical and clinical skills, excellent leadership and management of people, constant focus on legal compliance, highly productive, quality-focused, maniacal attention to detail, highly computer proficient
  • Organized, high integrity, attention to detail, dependable, quality focus, empathetic, good listener/communicator
  • Energetic, highly motivated, team player with strong personal and communication skills; discretion and confidentiality essential as position deals with highly sensitive and private data
