Pharmacist

Responsibilities

• Reviews prescriptions for safety and appropriateness.
• Contacts prescribers to clarify unclear or illegible prescriptions.
• Fills prescriptions according to established procedures.
• Interviews patients about their medication history and provides counseling.
• Teaches patients about their current drug therapies.
• Collaborates with other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient education.
• Schedules, educates, and supervises support personnel in medication preparation and related tasks.
• Maintains an inventory of medications and supplies and ensures compliance with storage procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy or foreign equivalency examination completed.
• Current Michigan RPh license or Michigan eligibility with required Controlled Substance license.
