About the role

Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a mission-driven non-profit organization employing over 700 staff. GLFHC provides high-quality patient care to residents throughout the Merrimack Valley and sponsors the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and interprets prescriptions, fills and accurately dispenses medication
• Maintains inventories and record keeping for narcotics and similar drugs
• Donates appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Reviews and approves prescriptions to be filled by pharmacy technicians according to State Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Works with pharmacy technicians to perform the 'final check' of filled prescriptions to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
• Works with patient medical information to conduct Drug Utilization Review on all prescriptions and reviews clinical edits to ensure there is no adverse drug reaction
• Reconciles Controlled Substances Logs with inventory on hand and prescriptions dispensed to comply with state and federal regulations
• Provides clinical expertise by responding to drug-related questions
• Familiarity with order processing, inventory, Database software, prescription verification, billing and adjudication software
• Safely administers and accurately documents immunizations and medications

Qualifications

• One to three years of experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• Current BLS certification
• Registration with State of Massachusetts as a Pharmacist
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
