About the role
The Pharmacist ensures the overall integrity, safety, rationality, and effectiveness of the drug use control process for all patients in the assigned geographic or specialty area, including Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, screen, and verify all drug-related orders for proper dosage, route, dosage form, and administration schedule.
- Ensure expedited preparation and dispensing of all dosage forms by pharmacy personnel.
- Resolve drug therapy problems and clarify or correct problematic drug orders.
- Designate pharmacy technicians to perform special assignments.
- Counsel patients regarding the safe and proper use of their medications.
- Resolve equipment and operational problems.
Requirements
- Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required (or obtained within the first 90 days of employment).
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program (required).
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program (preferred).
- Must be available to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting.
- Previous experience with state-of-the-art drug distribution, clinical service methods, drug information sources, retrieval, and communication methods.

Pay
Compensation range: $53.05 - $79.57 per hour. Actual salary offers will be based on relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
Schedule
Days, with availability required for evenings, nights, and weekends.
