About the Role

Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for the preparation of compounded sterile products and related activities under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy. Assists in the supervision of IV technicians, interns, and other support personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all policies and procedures.
  • Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique and CAPS Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensures pharmacy compliance with rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy and other regulating agencies.
  • Reviews orders and prescriptions for admixing and dispensing. Resolves order discrepancies and problems with customer pharmacy personnel.
  • Provides after-hour On Call coverage as needed.
  • Participates in CAPS Continuous Quality Improvement Program and performs Quality Control functions as assigned.
  • Assists in successful pharmacy operation: troubleshooting equipment problems, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory.
  • Maintains positive customer relationships.
  • May supervise IV Technicians and interns; reviews work for accuracy while ensuring compliance with CAPS SOPs.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

It shall be the duty of every employee while at work to take reasonable care for the safety and health of themselves and other persons.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or PharmD required.
  • 4+ years of related experience required.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification required.
  • Valid Colorado Pharmacist license issued by the Pharmacy state board.
  • Ability to work a non-standard schedule as needed, including on-call hours.

  • Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers, as well as external contractors/vendors.

Schedule

  • Variable shifts: 7am-3:30pm, 8:30am-5pm, or 9am-5:30pm.
  • Variable days including rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Overtime and additional hours as needed.
  • 4 days per week at 32 hours.

Pay

Salary range: $96,195.84 - $112,320.00 annually.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently uses hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
