Pharmacist - 2nd Shift - Central Fill

About the role
The Pharmacist at the Central Fulfillment (CF) site is responsible for conducting pharmacist verification in a closed-door pharmacy environment. The primary role is to ensure the accuracy and completeness of prescriptions in the Central Fill prescription filling system. The Pharmacist will serve as a leader to the shift team and partner with the site PIC/General Manager to provide direction for the teams, working in accordance with the Board of Pharmacy guidelines. The position will assist the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with all quality assurance activities related to keeping patients safe and complying with all state and local regulations along with company policies and procedures. This role is based in Ridgefield, WA, with a 2nd shift schedule (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM PT) and a typical 40-hour workweek. This is a salaried exempt position.
Responsibilities
- Pharmacist verification of prescriptions.
- Supervision of pharmacy technicians as regulated by the Board of Pharmacy.
- Support store pharmacy operations to achieve planned business objectives.
- Oversee activities related to the preparation, dispensing, and sale of prescription and pharmacy-related products.
- Assist in developing and implementing CF programs to meet sales objectives and increase prescription volume.
- Provide the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) updates on Pharmacy operations.
- Ensure compliance with Best Practice Standards and execution by pharmacy staff when the PIC is absent.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal laws, and company policies and procedures.
- Assist in the training and development of pharmacy staff.
- Maintain a clean pharmacist licensure in the home state.
- Complete all required state, federal, and company training programs (e.g., HIPAA, CDR, I-pledge).
- Address complex pharmacy operational issues with situation-specific business solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
- B.S. or doctorate (PharmD) in pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Licensed Pharmacist in the CF home state for a minimum of 1 year.
- A minimum of 1 year of retail pharmacy experience or equivalent in a similar setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior pharmacist experience within a retail or closed-door fulfillment setting.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to visit remote operations, business partners, and the General Office as needed.
- Process systems experience (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Mail order and central fill pharmacy experience.
- Knowledge of pharmacy systems and systems integration.
- Experience handling software and hardware in a warehouse environment.
