About the role
The Primary Responsibility Of The Adjunct Faculty Member Is Teaching. We Are Seeking Adjunct Instructors To Teach The Following Course At Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) SCI 5300 Pharmaceutical Discovery (Fall semester, 1.5 credits).
Course Description
This course covers the preclinical phase of the small molecule drug discovery process from selection and validation of the therapeutic target to identification, characterization, and validation of lead drug candidates, up to IND filing. The course will discuss both traditional high throughput and more advanced high content screening methods, use of genetically engineered 3D cell culture model systems, as well as the use of computational tools and artificial intelligence in drug target characterization, rational drug design, and prediction of pharmacokinetics and toxicology.

- Provides high-quality student instruction.
- Evaluates student performance (e.g., written assignments, examinations, in-class activities).
- Provides remedial instruction, as needed.

- Ability to lift and carry short distances up to 20 lbs., for example to lift or move office supplies, files, books and packages.
Hours, Classification, And Status
This is a part-time, exempt, adjunct faculty position and is not eligible for benefits. Schedules will vary depending on course assignments and the needs of the department or the Institute. The base salary range for this position is $2,500 - $15,000 per semester, depending on credits per course.
