About the role
The role of Pharmaceutical Development Technician, Analytical Research involves performing a variety of tests and analyses, assisting in the development, execution, and validation of analytical methods, and carrying out routine sample analysis under the supervision of a professional/scientist or laboratory supervisor. Responsibilities include maintaining laboratory documentation and equipment in compliance with safety, GLP, GMP, federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Carry out assigned laboratory responsibilities, including performance of tests or analysis.
- Absorb and demonstrate competency in using test equipment such as HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers, IR/Raman spectrometers, fluorimeters, polarimeters, dissolution instruments, volumetric and gravimetric analyzers, balances, pH meters, and other analytical instruments.
- Prepare and label standards, samples, reagents, including mobile phases for HPLC analysis and dissolution media.
- Sort glassware for storage or cleaning, collect waste solvents for disposal, and perform general laboratory housekeeping.
- Work in high containment areas using established handling procedures.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks (paper or electronic) to record and capture raw data, calculate results, and submit for supervisor review/approval.
- Report any anomalies or irregularities during the performance of assays to the supervisor.
- Make adjustments and/or minor repairs to instruments and equipment as needed according to Instrument Operating Procedures (IOPs).
Requirements
Technicians must maintain their skills and knowledge to stay current with advances in pharmaceutical development analysis. They may attend internal or external training courses as approved by management. Laboratory skills training will be implemented to ensure PDT employees receive relevant training to facilitate their job responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Two-year Associate Degree in Science related to pharmaceutical development or equivalent.
- Proficiency in using computer programs/systems.

Pay
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $42.04 per hour, however, pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the employee's work schedule, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Schedule
The role is "On-Site" at the location detailed in the job post, with a shift of 7 AM – 3:30 PM EST.
