Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.

Additional Duties

  • Knows vaccine schedules for children and adults
  • Gives correct needed vaccines to children and adults
  • Gives vaccines needed for school attendance along with correct certifications
  • Conducts audits for school and day cares
  • Conducts scoliosis screenings for schools
  • Conducts hearing/vision/dental screenings needed for school attendance
  • Cross-trains to TB, Child Health, Family Planning and IDC clinics
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR
  • Associate's degree/diploma in Nursing from an accredited college AND One year of PHN experience AND Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.

  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience vaccinating all age groups
  • Ability to read, write and speak Spanish
