PH Environmental Health Specialist 1
Job Responsibilities
Under supervision, assists in performing inspections, interviews, and technical reviews for an environmental health program in a public health department.
Aids in investigating complaints and recommending enforcement action as necessary.
Under direct supervision, evaluates programs for compliance with Georgia Environmental Health Regulations and performs public health inspections of:
- On-site Sewage Management Systems
- Animal Bite Investigations
- Food Service Establishments
- Public Swimming Pools
- Tourist Accommodations
- Body Art Studios
Responds to public health emergencies as requested.
Requirements
Must be able to drive a personal vehicle and/or company vehicle for work daily.
Must have strong communication and time management abilities.
Must be able to work in various climates both indoor and outdoor.
Physical Demands
Work involves frequent standing, bending, walking.
May require occasional lifting of 25 to 45 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including completion of 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.).
