Job Responsibilities
- Perform well checks and sports physicals
- Develop comprehensive plans of care using evidenced based medicine to include patient medical data, health history, progress notes and results of physical examination
- Maintain current licensure, certification and BLS for Healthcare providers
- Perform therapeutic procedures per protocols and professional experience including but not limited to injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care
- Administer orders and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-ray, electrocardiogram and laboratory tests
- Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens and health prevention/maintenance
- Prescribe appropriate therapy or medications per protocols. Obtain physician approval for therapy or medications not based on protocols
- Examine patients to obtain information about their physical conditions
- Absorb other programs and services in the clinic and offsite, if needed
- May be asked to precept nurse practitioner students when available
Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- Certification in the specialty area(s) approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Georgia License as an APRN
- CPR certification
