PGD Engineer - Solar Inverter
About the role
We're looking for a PGD Engineer – Solar Inverter on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment. It is a W-2 position. The Power Generation Division is looking for a PGD Engineer. This engineer will apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation. You will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- CWE/ROCC Process Improvements:
- Develop and refine troubleshooting guides for top fault codes across all inverter technologies
- Build and maintain fault code database and Do Not Reset (DNR) lists
- Use AI to create troubleshooting guides and apply engineering principles to datasets to synthesize information
- Be the primary technical liaison between Solar Inverter Fleet Team, ROCC, and CWE, acting independently on technical matters
- Complete process improvement assignments with broad terms, general goals, and limitations
- Work with individuals and OEMs within and outside the organization with responsibility to regarding technical matters pertaining to individual projects
- Support the responsibilities – Solar Inverter Team:
- Support component failure rate analysis and development of work plans
- Become a subject matter expert in at least one inverter manufacturer
- Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar sites
- Absorb troubleshooting inverter and other solar issues
- Help develop countermeasures for recurring issues
- Support responses to regulatory bodies for data requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in other engineering discipline with equivalent experience with electrical systems
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Utility-scale inverter and power electronics experience
- Ability to work with operations teams
Helpful Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering
- 2 years of experience with solar inverters
- Previous experience in operations support or control center environments

Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $45.00/hr. to $50.00/hr.
