Responsibilities

• Answer phones, schedule patients, update demographics
• Verify insurance coverage, validate referrals and authorizations
• Collect patient liability and provide financial guidance
• Accurately post patients at the point of service and release information
• Schedule office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s)
• Maximize reimbursement by scheduling patients in accordance with payor plan provisions
• Confirm patient appointments for the following day and ensure patients are properly prepared for visits
• Communicate with internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services, and HIMS
• Assist in responding to requests for patient medical records
• Provide a variety of patient services to assist in patient flow

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services, or insurance industry experience processes
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
