Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer Job Description This role focuses on leveraging existing manufacturing engineering experience to develop, refine, and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) within an automotive environment. The Manufacturing Process Engineer collaborates closely with product development and failure mode avoidance (FMA) experts to ensure robust manufacturing controls, accurate risk assessments, and compliance with internal standards and audit requirements. The position requires strong technical expertise, cross-functional communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Utilize prior manufacturing engineering experience to create, update, and populate PFMEAs with accurate process steps, potential failure modes, and associated controls.Collaborate cross-functionally with product development teams to obtain and interpret design inputs required for PFMEAs.Locate and review Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs) in the internal repository and extract severity ratings and failure effects for use in PFMEAs.Work closely with failure mode avoidance (FMA) experts to identify, address, and correct PFMEA audit discrepancies and ensure alignment with internal standards.Evaluate existing manufacturing controls to determine whether PFMEA detection methods can be improved and recommend enhancements where appropriate.Upload deviation proof and related documentation into required systems such as Jira and E2KS and ensure PFMEAs are updated to the latest standard.Obtain supervisor approval and signatures on completed or revised PFMEAs and upload final versions to the FEDE workbench.Use tools such as Teamcenter and GSPAS to support process engineering activities and maintain accurate process documentation.Manage multiple concurrent PFMEA and process engineering tasks while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements, share status updates, and resolve issues in a timely manner. Essential Skills 3–5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within the automotive industry.Hands-on experience with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).Experience with failure mode avoidance (FMA) methodologies and PFMEA processes.Understanding of installation processes for vehicle parts and related process engineering principles.Experience in manufacturing engineering within an automotive or OEM environment.Proficiency with GSPAS for process-related activities.Proficiency with Teamcenter for managing engineering and process data.Ability and familiarity with Excel for data analysis, documentation, and reporting.Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with manufacturing environments and production processes in original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic working environment and collaborate with a diverse team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with cross-functional stakeholders.Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product development and quality.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively in team settings.Experience using internal web-based tools and systems to access engineering and process information. Work Environment The position is based at a Product Development Center (PDC) located in Dearborn, MI. Core work hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and candidates must be available during this time frame. Team members may start earlier or finish later as needed to complete an eight-hour workday. The role operates in a professional, office-based engineering environment that interfaces closely with manufacturing operations and uses tools such as Jira, E2KS, Teamcenter, GSPAS, and Excel. The dress code is business casual. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, MI. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $43.00/hr.
