Job Duties

  • Act as a team leader to independently undertake a specific phase of work and direct others in the completion of that goal.
  • Spot and direct heavy equipment operators, track hoe and loaders, from the ground during excavation operations.
  • Operate small machinery, such as a skid steer loader or backhoe, as needed.
  • Cut and thread steel pipe and assist in the fitting and installation on underground and above-ground tanks.
  • Absorb and execute the foreman's instructions regarding shooting grades and simple paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site according to the foreman’s direction.
  • Ensure safety on the job site by placing and maintaining signs, safety barricades, and devices, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Pick up, clean, and organize tools of the trade on the truck or job trailer.
  • Keep job inventory organized per the foreman’s directions.
  • Communicate and anticipate potential issues to prevent problems and aid in planning.
  • Present the company image and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Work outside of regular business hours.
  • Work in various weather conditions, with a significant portion of the work done outdoors.
  • Travel up to 50-60% of the time.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a construction truck and tow small trailers when needed (no DUI’s within the past 5 years).
  • Basic math and mechanical skills.
  • Experience with HVAC, pipefitting, petroleum construction, or related fields.
  • Ability to meet company’s employment requirements, including passing a drug screen, background check, and MVR (if driving for the company).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and standing for 8-10 hours per day.
