Responsibilities

• Safely operate various pieces of hand, powered or mobile equipment to meet site production goals.
• Comply with Loss Control (HSLP), Environmental, and NGM policies and procedures.
• Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations.

• Perform preop inspections on all pieces of equipment and machinery prior to use.

Qualifications

• Reporting to the Underground Operations Supervisor, the Underground Miner is responsible for the above duties.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate the requirements to perform a proper heading inspection.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate the ability to perform preoperational checks.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate the ability to suppress airborne dust as required.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate the ability to receive muck in a safe and efficient manner.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate knowledge of safe ramp travel with regards to traffic and pedestrians.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate the ability to dump muck in a safe and efficient manner.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate the requirements to perform a proper heading inspection.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate the ability to perform pre operational checks.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate the ability to follow the required lock-out/tag-out procedure.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate the ability to identify worn or defective components.
• The Underground Miner must demonstrate knowledge of the required PPE for all aspects of the task.
