Pet Stylist - Ziggy's Dog Parlor

About the role

Our Pet Stylists express their creativity as experienced pet groomers in our busy salons, focusing on grooming dogs (and cats too, if certified) of all sizes and temperaments to ensure they look their best. We are an employee-owned and operated company with over 80 locations across twenty-six states and 30 years in business, offering growth opportunities within a well-established pet care facility.

Responsibilities

• Consults with customers and complies with all requests to ensure satisfaction, interacting in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
• Practices timeliness by starting shifts on time and finishing pets before the promised time.
• Performs all aspects of grooming services to meet Best Friends quality expectations, including grooming all breeds, styling all fur types, and completing specific breed styles as requested by clients.
• Works in an organized and hygienic manner, keeping work areas free of hair and clutter, and sanitizing tools and compartments between pets.
• Understands and uses grooming products appropriately, following label directions, and assists in maintaining inventory by reporting stock levels.
• Treats equipment and tools with care, performs simple maintenance, and reports mechanical failures to the manager in writing.
• Collaborates with the manager and center staff to ensure the salon runs smoothly and meets high standards of service and product quality.
• Performs additional duties such as brushing, trimming nails, and providing add-on services.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years of professional grooming experience out of school or equivalent training.
• High school diploma.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Love of animals and patience when handling pets.
• Professional demeanor at all times with an upbeat and positive personality.
• Dependable with reliable transportation.
