Pet Stylist - Norterra
About the role
The Pet Stylist is instrumental in providing high quality grooming services to clients supporting the overall success of the animal hospital.
Responsibilities
- Bathing, brushing, clipping, and providing other grooming services to domestic pets, typically dogs and cats.
- Communicate effectively and in a friendly manner with clients.
- Deliver WOW client service.
- Perform standard grooming techniques as well as new skills.
- Embrace the organization’s pricing philosophy.
- Learn and implement the operation procedures set forth in the role.
- Care for all pets with respect, kindness, and sensitivity.
- Clean and disinfect the salon, equipment, and grooming tools daily.
- Read, write, and communicate in English.
Requirements
- Proven ability to groom dogs and cats safely and efficiently.
- Understand dog and cat behavior, body language, and temperament.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- General knowledge of the sanitation of grooming tools and supplies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, sometimes for several hours.
- Walk, use of hands and fingers, reach, hunch over pets, kneel, crouch, squat, lift, and crawl.
- Pushing and pulling of equipment necessary for moving tables and cleaning the grooming area.
- Frequently lift or move up to 40 pounds.
- Must request assistance for helping when lifting pets in excess of 40 pounds.
- Able to hear pets and have vision to perform grooms.

Competitive pay commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Grooming certification preferred.
Skills
Proven ability to groom dogs and cats safely and efficiently.
