Pet Sitter Responsibilities

• Work weekdays, weekends and holidays, as visits vary based on client needs
• Enter the homes of clients and visit with their pets for varying lengths of time (usually 15 - 30 minutes each)
• Act as primary care givers for pets while their owners are away
• Walk pets as requested
• Feed pets as requested
• Provide appropriate litter box and/or cage clean up as required
• Check that pets have ample, clean water supply and refill as necessary
• Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets in the absence of their owners
• Clean any accidents or damage discovered in homes of our clients
• Communicate with Management

Pet Sitter Requirements and Qualifications

• Northern VA residence within 5 miles of 22301 is preferred
• Must have your own, reliable mode of transportation to perform the duties and responsibilities associated with this role
• Must have your own reliable Smart Phone with internet access and data plan
• Able to follow detailed instructions
• Must be responsible, reliable, and dependable
• Must be timely and punctual
• Must be able to self-manage
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be compassionate about animals
• Must feel comfortable working with and interacting with both small and large animals
• Willing to walk and drive in all weather conditions
• Able to make at least a 6 month commitment, however longer is preferred
• Able to pass criminal background check

• Compensation is $24-28/hour plus tips, paid on a per visit basis
• Visits are performed in Del Ray, Old Town Alexandria, West End: Duke Street Corridor and South Arlington: Shirlington, Fairlington, National Landing, Columbia Pike

This is a Part Time SUPPLEMENTAL INCOME position.
