About the role

As a PET/CT Technologist, you will embrace Adventist HealthCare's mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently produce high-quality NM and/or PET images using knowledge of NM education, IV skills, computer processing, and image enhancement.
  • Prepare and administer medications and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine examinations following protocols established by radiologists.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating gamma cameras, SPECT/CT and/or PET/CT machines, uptake probes, well counters, dose calibrators, survey meters, and all ancillary equipment within the Nuclear Medicine department.
  • Accurately perform documentation in all computer systems within Nuclear Medicine and Imaging Services pertinent to Nuclear Medicine (RIS, PACS, NMIS, image reformatting).
  • Perform Hot Lab functions including acceptance, maintenance, and documentation of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Understand principles of radiation safety.
  • Properly identify patients, review orders, and select scanning protocols to maximize quality and safe patient care in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Perform periodic QA checks as required by state and federal law.
  • Maximize patient throughput and demonstrate teamwork with coworkers by managing large patient volume.
  • Work with the Director, Manager, and Radiologist to develop policies, procedures, and protocols including dose reduction activities.
  • Maintain written protocols for each site and ensure consistency between written protocols and system protocols.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, image quality checks, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • State of Maryland Nuclear Medicine Technologist license.
  • ARRT (N)(CT) or NMTCB (CNMT) required.
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • 2 years Nuclear Medicine Technology experience preferred.
  • 2 years CT experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic PC skills including RIS/PACS experience.
  • Image reformatting experience preferred.
  • Venous access competency preferred.
  • Ability to modify care according to the patient’s age and physical ability.

Schedule

  • Employment Type: Variable Part Time
  • Hours per Week: 16
  • Typical Daily Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; Variable
  • Locations: Rockville, North Bethesda, Silver Spring
  • Shift Type: Day Shift

Pay

Pay Range: $37.17 - $55.76 per hour.
