About the role
As a PET/CT Technologist, you will embrace Adventist HealthCare's mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
Responsibilities
- Consistently produce high-quality NM and/or PET images using knowledge of NM education, IV skills, computer processing, and image enhancement.
- Prepare and administer medications and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform Nuclear Medicine examinations following protocols established by radiologists.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating gamma cameras, SPECT/CT and/or PET/CT machines, uptake probes, well counters, dose calibrators, survey meters, and all ancillary equipment within the Nuclear Medicine department.
- Accurately perform documentation in all computer systems within Nuclear Medicine and Imaging Services pertinent to Nuclear Medicine (RIS, PACS, NMIS, image reformatting).
- Perform Hot Lab functions including acceptance, maintenance, and documentation of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Understand principles of radiation safety.
- Properly identify patients, review orders, and select scanning protocols to maximize quality and safe patient care in Nuclear Medicine.
- Perform periodic QA checks as required by state and federal law.
- Maximize patient throughput and demonstrate teamwork with coworkers by managing large patient volume.
- Work with the Director, Manager, and Radiologist to develop policies, procedures, and protocols including dose reduction activities.
- Maintain written protocols for each site and ensure consistency between written protocols and system protocols.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, image quality checks, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- State of Maryland Nuclear Medicine Technologist license.
- ARRT (N)(CT) or NMTCB (CNMT) required.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 2 years Nuclear Medicine Technology experience preferred.
- 2 years CT experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and critical thinking skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic PC skills including RIS/PACS experience.
- Image reformatting experience preferred.
- Venous access competency preferred.
- Ability to modify care according to the patient’s age and physical ability.

Pay
Pay Range: $37.17 - $55.76 per hour.
