About the role

As a Positron Emission Tomography--Computed Tomography (PET/CT) Technologist, you will operate assigned scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies. This is a full-time mobile position, working 40 hours per week with hours from 6:30am to 5:00pm.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients before exams for precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
  • Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately for accurate imaging.
  • Perform routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures with minimal supervision, ensuring high-quality scans and patient support throughout the procedure.
  • Adjust PET/CT scan parameters as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques where appropriate.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and colleagues.
  • Follow physicians' orders precisely and adhere to safety regulations to protect patients and coworkers.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order; clean and disinfect after each use.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assess, prepare, record, and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State regulations.
  • Administer fluorodioxyglucose (FDG) via intravenous methods.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with training new associates, providing resource and technical expertise.
  • Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment.
  • Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing.
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Training and experience sufficient to competently perform PET/CT procedures independently.

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Bilingual.
  • ARRT certification in CT.
  • NMTCB PET Specialty certification.

Pay

The pay range for this position is between $54 - $70 per hour based on direct and relevant experience.
