Pet and Owner Movement Project
TELUS Digital is conducting an in-home video data collection project in Bellevue, WA; Seattle, WA; and San Jose, CA to advance pet recognition technology. Participants and their pets (cats and dogs) will complete a session in a private home setting, where pets will walk around outside and in front of devices while being recorded. Pets can remain on leashes and are permitted breaks throughout the session.
Compensation
- Seattle, WA and Bellevue, WA: $125 for a completed 2-hour session
- San Jose, CA: $160 for a completed 2-hour session
Payments will be made via Hyperwallet (PayPal, bank transfer, or Venmo). A Tax Identification Number is required to set up your Hyperwallet account.

Requirements
- Reside in the United States
- 18+ years of age
- Basic English proficiency
- Ability to commute to the project location
- Perform simple tasks as instructed by moderators (e.g., walking by a smart device)
- Present a valid form of identification to participate
Dog Specifications
- Ability to walk off-leash for short distances (max 3 meters) in securely fenced or barricaded areas (treats provided)
- Follow simple obedience commands (sit, stay, come, leave it) when directed by the owner
- Comfortable around unfamiliar people, including the project team
