Pet and Owner Movement Project
TELUS Digital is conducting an in-home video data collection project to advance pet recognition technology. Adults and their pets (cats and dogs) in Bellevue, WA; Seattle, WA; and San Jose, CA are invited to participate.
Project Overview
Participants and their pets will complete a session led by on-site moderators in a private home setting. The session involves the pet walking around outside and in front of devices while being recorded. Pets can remain on leashes and are permitted breaks throughout the session.
Compensation
- Seattle, WA and Bellevue, WA: $125 for a completed 2-hour session
- San Jose, CA: $160 for a completed 2-hour session
Payments will be made via Hyperwallet (PayPal, bank transfer, or Venmo). A Tax Identification Number is required to set up your Hyperwallet account.

Requirements
- Reside in the United States
- 18+ years of age
- Basic English proficiency
- Ability to commute to the project location (Bellevue, WA; Seattle, WA; or San Jose, CA)
- Ability to perform simple tasks as instructed by moderators (e.g., walking by a smart device)
- Valid form of identification required for participation
Dog Specifications
- Must be able to walk off-leash for short distances (max 3 meters) in securely fenced or barricaded areas
- Should follow simple obedience commands (sit, stay, come, leave it)
- Must be comfortable around unfamiliar people, including the moderator team
Treats will be provided during the session. Selected participants will be contacted by the production team to schedule an appointment.
