About the role

The Pest Control Technician is responsible for providing safe, effective, and professional pest management services to residential, commercial, agricultural, and municipal clients. This role involves identifying pest activity, applying control products, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and applicable state/federal laws. The technician will also assist across other service divisions—such as lawn care, tree/shrub care, weed control, and equipment maintenance—as needed to support the company’s operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pest control applications (interior and exterior) for insects and other nuisance pests.
  • Inspect properties to identify pest activity, entry points, and environmental conditions contributing to infestations.
  • Mix, load, and apply products in accordance with label instructions, company policy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate and maintain spray trucks, backpack sprayers, foggers, and other application equipment.
  • Educate customers on pest prevention strategies and service programs.
  • Complete accurate service records, invoices, and compliance documentation.
  • Follow all company safety protocols, including PPE use, spill prevention, and vehicle operation standards.
  • Aid in other company divisions as needed, such as:
    • Lawn care and fertilization programs
    • Tree and shrub spraying or fertilization
    • Noxious weed and bare-ground weed control
    • Pond/aquatic treatments
    • Sprayer/equipment service and maintenance support
  • Support warehouse operations, product handling, and occasional delivery tasks.
  • Participate in ongoing training, certifications, and safety meetings.
  • Assist in outdoor field work in residential, commercial, and agricultural settings.
  • Operate large vehicles, spray rigs, and specialized equipment.
  • May involve overtime, weekend work, or seasonal scheduling adjustments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade education preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain state pesticide applicator certification(s).
  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment operation and minor maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
