Personal Trainer (TownLake)
About the Role
As a dedicated Personal Trainer, you'll build a robust client base while fostering a safe and motivating workout environment. Your role involves crafting personalized fitness plans, conducting equipment orientations, and inspiring individuals to embrace healthier lifestyles. You'll balance personal training sessions with floor monitoring duties, ensuring a positive experience for all gym-goers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct personal training sessions with members as scheduled.
- Encourage members to understand the benefits of exercise and weight training, and provide information about other YMCA programs.
- Lead individual or group activities as designated by the Health & Wellness Director.
- Carry out YMCA Fitness Program objectives.
- Ensure equipment is clean and ready for use.
- Promote the YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and community role.
- Lead by example in embodying the Y's mission, vision, and values.
- Act as an ambassador for the YMCA, sharing its impact and culture.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Current certification from a nationally recognized and NCAA-accredited organization, such as:
- Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA)
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
- American Council on Exercise (ACE)
- Cooper Institute (grandfathered in/uses ACE)
- International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA)
- National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
- National Council on Strength & Fitness (NSCF)
- National Council for Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT)
- National Exercise and Sports Trainer Association (NESTA)
- National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA)
- National Federation of Professional Trainers (NFPT)
- National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
- World Instructor Training Schools (WITS)
Skills

Pay
Hourly rate of $15 when not actively engaged with clients.
