Personal Trainer (North Austin)
About the Role
As a dedicated Personal Trainer, you'll build a robust personal training client base by crafting personalized fitness plans tailored to each client's unique needs. You'll also serve as a floor monitor, ensuring a safe and motivating workout environment, conducting equipment orientations, and fostering a sense of community within the fitness space.
The role offers an hourly rate of $15 when not actively engaged with clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct personal training sessions with members as scheduled.
- Encourage members to understand the benefits of exercise and weight training, and provide information about other available programs.
- Lead individual or group activities as designated by the Health & Wellness Director.
- Understand and carry out the YMCA Fitness Program objectives.
- Ensure equipment is clean and ready for use.
- Promote the YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community.
- Lead by example in embodying the Y's mission, vision, and values with participants, members, staff, and guests.
- Act as an ambassador of the Y's work and culture by sharing the organization's story.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Part-time availability with a flexible schedule.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Current certification from a nationally recognized and NCCA-accredited organization (e.g., AFAA, ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA, or equivalent).
- Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude.
- Organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging by leveraging people's differences as strengths.
