Personal Trainer Career Accelerator Internship
About the role
The Personal Trainer Career Accelerator Internship is a structured, mentorship-driven program designed for career changers, recent graduates, newly certified trainers, and individuals preparing to transition into professional personal training. This program is best suited for those with professional or real-world experience from another role or industry who are now ready to build a career in health and fitness.
Responsibilities
- Shadow experienced personal trainers during private one-on-one client sessions
- Learn how assessment findings, client goals, health history, and movement quality influence individualized program design
- Practice movement assessments and exercise selection under trainer supervision
- Develop skills in exercise progression, regression, cueing, and adapting workouts to individual client needs
- Participate in coaching exercises focused on rapport, communication, behavior change, motivational interviewing, and client accountability
- Complete structured assignments and client case studies that connect coaching theory with real-world application
- Gradually participate in appropriate portions of client sessions under supervision as skills and competency develop
- Complete a final coaching capstone and career readiness evaluation
Requirements
- Professional or real-world experience from another role or industry
- College degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Health Science, or a related field (welcome but not required)
- Strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, dependability, and professional judgment
- Genuine interest in helping people create sustainable changes in their health, fitness, and daily habits
- Able to commit approximately 10 to 20 hours per week during the internship
