Position Overview
The organization is seeking a Personal Training Lead to advance the personal training business and exceed financial and performance targets at the club. This position is responsible for building and developing a high-performing personal training team that enables members to achieve their physical, mental, and emotional fitness goals while receiving an exceptional experience. The Personal Training Lead oversees the personal training team to deliver high-quality training sessions, achieve monthly session targets, and increase the overall number of active personal training clients. The PTL also works collaboratively with other team members to acquire new personal training clients and achieve monthly sales goals.

Purpose
The Personal Training Lead is responsible for leading and developing the personal training team, increasing the acquisition and retention of personal training clients, and helping achieve financial and performance goals. This position combines team leadership, personal training operations, client relationship development, coaching, sales, and business development.
Key Responsibilities

- Interact with members, clients, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ensure clients receive strong value from personal training services.
- Maintain consistent professional standards among personal trainers.
- Ensure training spaces are safe, clean, and properly maintained.
- Create a supportive and connected community for personal trainers and their clients.
- Provide tools, resources, meaningful check-ins, and development opportunities to support ongoing team growth.
- Build relationships with members to attract new personal training clients.
- Coach personal trainers on conducting consultations and recommending appropriate training packages based on individual client goals.
- Work with personal trainers to achieve monthly sales and client acquisition targets.
- Contribute to achieving monthly revenue and performance goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology OR an NCCA-accredited Personal Training Certification.
- 3+ years of experience building and developing high-performing teams.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Open to new approaches with the ability to think creatively and solve problems.
- Optimistic, energetic, and willing to take a hands-on approach.
- Self-motivated with a high degree of ownership, urgency, and accountability.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Passion for fitness, wellness, and healthy living.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lead, coach, and direct a team.
- Applicable and transferable management experience preferred.
Working Conditions
Primary work is performed in a fitness facility and office setting. Temperature variations may occur. The environment includes ambient noise from conversations, fitness equipment, and machinery.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Frequent verbal communication, including the ability to convey detailed or important instructions accurately, clearly, and efficiently.
- Non-sedentary work requiring standing and walking for most of the workday.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to work with a variety of variables, interpret instructions, and effectively communicate information to clients and team members.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. Employees must work regularly scheduled shifts during business hours to assist members, clients, and guests and support the sale of personal training services.
