Personal Support Assistant

About the role

BAYADA Habilitation is seeking a Personal Support Assistant / Direct Support Professional to provide 1:1 support for individuals with Autism, intellectual, or developmental disabilities. Compassionate caregivers embody empathy and respect, uplifting and empowering the people they support in home and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Spend time on clients’ favorite hobbies and activities
• Participate in community integration activities, errands, and appointments
• Patiently teach, encourage, and celebrate small achievements
• Provide personal care assistance as needed

Requirements

• One year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
• Ability to transport clients to community activities
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years of age
• The ability to read and write in English

Pay

$20 per hour and up based on experience; $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

• Part-time, weekdays and weekends available
• Hours vary based on client needs and staff availability; opportunities for growth based on performance and scheduling needs
