Personal Lines Associate Account Manager

About the role
The Associate Account Manager will be responsible for the retention of existing accounts and production of new personal lines accounts. This person will provide prompt, efficient, high-quality customer service to designated accounts in support of agency and personal line standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide Account Management services to Personal Lines accounts as assigned. Independently manage a book of business between $800K and $1.2M in Premium Volume while supporting the team approach of Account Managers as needed.
- Remarketing and New Business: Gather information and risk management recommendations for designated accounts. Market new business and existing accounts; determine premiums using comparative rater and company website. Prepare and present proposals to clients/prospects. Assist Account Manager and/or Producer with the sale of the account as needed. Check in and bill rewritten and new business policies.
- Renewals: Perform renewal reviews, check-in renewals, confirm coverages, correct errors if necessary, notify producer or account manager if coverages do not meet agency standards, identify account rounding opportunities, or address excessive premium increases. Bill renewal on system if necessary. Document system per agency standards.
- Processing/Endorsements/Billing: Process and handle all endorsements, billing, new business, and processing requests. Document system per agency standards. Request assistance from customer service representative as needed.
- Customer Service: Receive calls from clients, insurance company representatives, and related industries. Handle and process all requests in conjunction with customer service representative and claims specialist. Answer questions promptly and efficiently, maintain concern for timeliness and completeness to minimize potential for errors & omissions claims. Assist claims department in providing coverage information.
- Insurance Carriers: Maintain a good working relationship with insurance companies and representatives. Maintain underwriting and marketing information by carrier. Continuously improve product and coverage knowledge.
- Agency Management/File System: Maintain files, applications, documents, and update agency management per agency standards. Assist in the maintenance of company intranet and agency management system.
- Projects: Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor, Department Manager, or Producer.
Requirements
- Must have previous experience working in Personal Lines of Business.
- Thorough understanding of Personal Lines underwriting and coverages.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar position or in a Customer Service role within Personal Lines.
- Must have all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance to discuss and/or sell insurance in states where the agency functions, or be very close to obtaining the license upon acceptance of the job offer.
- College degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Professional Designation is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Schedule
This is a full-time position: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Limited local travel may be required.
Pay
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
