Personal Lines Account Manager

As a Personal Lines Account Manager within the Shepherd family, you will assist insurance advisors in the handling and processing of new and renewal personal lines business in accordance with Agency procedures and guidelines. You will provide a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding, and servicing personal accounts, as well as delivering customer service to clients as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Provide positive, prompt, and accurate service to clients.
- Assist in marketing new and renewal business.
- Evaluate premiums, prepare proposals, presentation packets, and maintain underwriting and marketing information by carrier.
- Assist advisors with cross-selling and account rounding.
- Receive phone calls from clients and companies regarding policy coverage, claims, or administrative needs; comply with the request and/or refer to the advisor when necessary.
- Maintain a suspense system to follow up on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports, and overdue items.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar position is desirable.
- Required state licensing certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; college degree is preferred but not necessary.
- Strong understanding of personal lines insurance coverages, forms, procedures, and policy rating systems.
- Familiarity with a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), agency, and document management systems.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects or tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear, taste, or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is indoors and not exposed to weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
