Responsibilities
The Personal Insurance Client Advisor will work in a team environment with all members of the Personal Insurance department, including the sales and management teams, to effectively respond to clients' needs and requests and properly protect their assets.
- Handle a book of business, building relationships with each account and ensuring activities are settled efficiently and accurately.
- Assist clients with policy changes, renewals, and claims processing.
- Advise clients on the company's "value" proposition to emphasize comprehensive coverage over price alone.
- Conduct coverage and exposure reviews with existing clients to ensure adequate coverage at the time of a loss, including outreach to clients with adverse loss experience.
- Contact new clients within 30–45 days of their new business effective date to introduce yourself, address outstanding issues, and confirm preferred communication methods.
- Review potential non-renewal issues with management and discuss eligibility for reinstatement or coverage rewrites with carriers.
- Quote and issue mid-term rewrites as exposures change.
- Review renewal increases over established thresholds, contact incumbent carriers for rate relief options, and discuss findings with insureds. If marketing is necessary, task the Placement Specialist team.
- Contact clients who have cancelled or requested cancellation to determine primary reasons and establish controls to resolicit coverage. Discuss findings with the sales team and management.
- Communicate directly with insurance company underwriters to resolve outstanding or potential issues and protect clients' insurability.
- Document all interactions—including with clients and carriers—(phone calls, emails, face-to-face meetings, letters, etc.) in the company system so any team member can assist the client.
