About the role
Our client is a growing Houston-based law firm.
Responsibilities
- Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials and court proceedings.
- Managing and organizing medical records and other case documents.
- Drafting and e-filing motions and other legal documents.
- Providing litigation support, including researching legal issues and facts for cases.
- Coordinating and assisting in taking witness statements and depositions.
- Communicating with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and other professionals in a bilingual capacity (Spanish/English).
- Assisting with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness preparation, trial binders, and coordination with expert witnesses.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in personal injury law.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience with litigation support, drafting motions, e-filing, managing medical records, and trial prep.
- A thorough understanding of legal principles, research techniques, legal codes, court procedures, and precedents.
- Proficiency in using legal research software and other related software for case management.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred, but substantial relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal certification.
