Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury cases from inception through trial.
  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation and trial strategy.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and motions.
  • Represent clients in court, presenting evidence and arguments to achieve favorable resolutions.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance companies.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and answering their questions.
  • Work collaboratively with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members to ensure efficient case management.
  • Stay current on developments in personal injury law and practice, attending continuing legal education courses as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a personal injury attorney, with a strong record of successful litigation and trial experience.
  • Proficient in all aspects of personal injury law, including negligence, tort law, and accident claims.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong case management skills, with the ability to handle a large caseload efficiently and effectively.
  • Exceptional client relations skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Experience with negotiation and settlement of personal injury cases.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Willingness to travel for court appearances and client meetings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound legal judgments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
