Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and other negligence claims.
- Conduct client consultations and evaluate potential claims.
- Investigate cases by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing medical records and accident reports.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement demands, and other legal documents.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
- Take and defend depositions, attend mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings.
- Prepare cases for trial and represent clients in court when necessary.
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, medical experts, and investigators.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and legal strategy.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, court rules, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the applicable state.
- 2+ years of personal injury litigation experience preferred (entry-level candidates with relevant internship or clerkship experience may be considered).
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and personal injury law.
- Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Able to manage multiple cases while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and client relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trial experience.
- Experience handling high-value personal injury claims.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and reviewing medical records.
- Proven track record of successful settlements and verdicts.
