Qualifications
The individual must have completed at minimum 60 college hours and/or passed the Paraprofessional test to apply. Transcripts or test results are required to be submitted with the application. The Frontline Video Course or less than 60 college hours route are not acceptable for this position.
Personal Health Aide
- Missouri nursing license
- CPR certification
- AED certification
- First aid training
- CNA required; LPN preferred
- Criminal justice fingerprint and background clearance
Reports To
Director of Special Education and building principal
Primary Function
Minimizes absence due to illness and provides and delivers health services to minimize the impact on the learning process.
Performance And Job Responsibilities
- Experience working with school-age children
- Familiarity with diabetes, asthma, allergies, and anaphylaxis
- Knowledge to support students with special needs
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge to work with children who have both chronic and episodic illnesses
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, board members, and the general public
- Personal transportation available
- Flexible hours as needed
- Informs teachers of physical or health conditions which should impair the learning process according to FERPA, ANA, and NASN

Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
