About the role

This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations, specifically Patrick SFB, FL. The role involves delivering personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services, including one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or other providers, briefings, presentations, and referrals.
  • Work closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program meets the needs of the installation.
  • Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
  • Coordinate, publicize, and provide Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on topics across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, personal and career events).
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate financial classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (e.g., web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications, secure video teleconference).
  • Manage duty-to-warn situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing trends and issues on assigned installations.
  • Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. May consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years of experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English. If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
  • Valid driver’s license.

Pay

Salary range: $58,440 – $93,500. This reflects the anticipated base salary range based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary by location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position may also be eligible for short-term incentives.
