About the role

This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. The primary responsibilities include offering financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families.

Responsibilities

  • One-on-one counseling and consultations with service members and commanders
  • Conducting briefings and presentations on financial topics relevant to the military lifecycle
  • Developing and distributing financial educational materials
  • Coordinating and publicizing financial management classes and workshops
  • Responding to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
  • Utilizing virtual counseling and electronic communication methods
  • Managing duty-to-warn situations according to DoD protocol
  • Communicating with leadership and participating in supervision and training sessions
  • Participating in in-services and quality improvement committees

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience
  • U.S. citizenship and fluency in English
  • If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
  • One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Driver's license, valid in state
