About the role
This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. It includes counseling and managing financial services for military service members and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one counseling, consultations, and briefings to military personnel and families.
- Develop and distribute financial materials to service members and families.
- Coordinate and conduct financial management classes and workshops.
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed.
- Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision and training sessions.
- Participate in in-services/training and quality improvement committees.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- High school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
- If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of military lifecycle stages and personal finance.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $58,440 to $93,500 annually, with a minimum of $45,000 and a maximum of $60,000, depending on location.
