About the role
This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. It includes counseling and managing financial services for military service members and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one counseling and consultations with commanders or other providers.
- Conduct briefings and presentations on financial matters relevant to military service members and families.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
- Coordinate and publicize various Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed.
- Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and training sessions.
- Participate in in-services/training and other contract activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- High school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
- If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Pass a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- Obtain one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
