Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage in short-term, surge and on-demand situations resulting from military needs.
  • Offer full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations.
  • Address financial services through one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings, and presentations.
  • Work closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program meets the needs of the installation.
  • Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
  • Coordinate and provide a variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication methods as needed.
  • Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and training.
  • Participate in in-services, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
  • If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Passes the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Qualifications

  • May consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • May consider applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Skills

  • Effective utilization of virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication.
  • Ability to manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
  • Communication and collaboration skills with leadership and other staff.
  • Ability to develop and deliver educational materials and programs.

Pay

Salary Range: $58,440 - $93,500
