Personal Care Worker-Hatley, WI

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Assistance with bathing
• Toileting, including use of bedpan, urinal, commode or toilet
• Dressing and undressing
• Mobility and ambulating, including use of walker, cane and crutches
• Transfers, including bed to chair or wheelchair and reverse
• Changing of consumer(s) bed
• Laundering of bed linens and consumer(s) personal clothing
• Skin care (excluding wound care)
• Care of eyeglasses and hearing aids
• Light cleaning in essential areas of home during personal care activities
• Meal preparation and meal serving
• Promptly reporting changes in the consumer’s condition to the R.N. Case Manager
• Completion of all time sheets and documentation necessary to maintain program services in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner
• Maintaining confidentiality of consumer’s information

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiar with the philosophy and concepts of independent living
• Ability to understand and carry out consumer instructions
• Good communication skills
• Ability to relate well to others
• Good past employment references
• Physical strength sufficient to perform essential functions of job
• Ability to: regularly sit, stand, and walk; use hands and fingers, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; bend; squat; twist and talk or hear
• Occasionally lift and/or move individuals using transferring techniques or assistive technology/equipment
• Reliable vehicle or an alternate means of transportation to worksite required
• Completion of interview and training conducted by PAS staff
• Satisfactory Criminal Background results
