Riverside TerraceAbout the Role
In these positions, the Personal Care Attendants/Certified Nursing Assistants will assist residents who are functionally, physically, and/or socially impaired and need assistance with supportive, nursing, and personal care. The role involves fostering residents' independence and freedom of choice while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.Responsibilities
- Affirms the provision of high-quality services needed and/or desired by tenants and their families.
- Achieves and/or maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, state, federal, regulatory, and/or accrediting body standards.
- Fosters excellence in consumer satisfaction through provision of quality services in an environment of professionalism and compassion.
- Maintains high level of involvement/participation in all tenant activities. Provides feedback/suggestions regarding the activity program to the Activity Coordinator and Director.
- Assists residents in self-administering medications under supervision of a Registered Nurse and after completing an approved medication course.
- Provides assistance with activities of daily living for tenants including but not limited to: dressing, bathing, personal hygiene (shaving, oral hygiene, nail care, foot care, hair care), mobility assistance (cane, walker, wheelchair, and crutch use) including monitoring of safe transfer and ambulation techniques, use and care of ADL devices (including eyeglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids).
- Assists with instrumental activities of daily living for tenants including but not limited to: telephone use, housekeeping tasks (vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms, bedmaking, linen changes), laundry, light maintenance, transportation, mail delivery, and personal correspondence.
- Cleans rooms and conducts tenant rounds/checks to monitor for environmental and safety hazards. Records incidents, errors, and accidents and reports them to the Director within 1 hour.
- Escorts tenants to dining room, sets up and cleans tables, serves meals, eats meals with tenants during mealtimes.
Requirements
- Current WI CNA certification
- Valid driver's license
- CPR Certification within 3 months
- Completes the required medication training course
- Trained, knowledgeable, and skilled to perform evaluation, treatment, and patient care for adult and geriatric patients
- Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality at all times
- Works collaboratively with peers and all team members
- Promptly and thoroughly follows up with appropriate staff, tenants, or other individuals regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns
- Adheres to established hospital and Riverside Terrace policies, rules, and regulations
