Personal Care Attendant

Pay

$13–$16 per hour (average pay rate).

Schedule

All shifts available. Full-time or part-time positions. Start immediately.

About the role

Provide non-health-care-related services to clients in their residence or a facility. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with the client and family, and report observations and problems to your supervisor. Work under the direction of a registered nurse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Current driver’s license.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
• Interest in the welfare of ill and elderly individuals.
• Hepatitis B consent or declination.
• Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.

Environment and working conditions

• Work in patients’ homes under varying conditions.
• Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
• Flexible schedule required.
• Local travel; some exposure to unpleasant weather.

Physical and mental effort

• Prolonged standing and walking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work under stressful conditions to meet deadlines, identify patient needs, and make quick decisions.
• Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity required.

• Promote the agency’s philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
