About the Role
The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) supports residents’ physical and emotional well-being in a warm, home-like environment. You’ll assist with activities of daily living, monitor safety, and work alongside a supportive team of caregivers and nursing staff. This role may also be known as Caregiver, Resident Care Assistant, or Personal Support Aide.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Provide compassionate physical and emotional support while preserving resident dignity
- Monitor resident safety and observe for signs of distress or changes in condition
- Accurately document resident care, activities, and changes as required
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and fellow caregivers regarding resident needs
- Engage residents in activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being
- Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies
- Support a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and BLS certifications are a plus (training available)

Physical Demands
- Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed
- Push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance
- Maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.
Work Environment
This role is performed in an indoor senior living environment designed to promote comfort, safety, and engagement. Duties may include accompanying residents to supervised indoor or outdoor activities.
