PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT (PCA) - THE FOLEY CENTER AT CHESTNUT RIDGE
Job Summary
Aids residents with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and ADLs as needed. Changes linens, takes and records vital signs, assists CNAs, turns and repositions residents, assists with oral hygiene, answers call bells, completes care records, collects specimens, gives enemas, maintains cleanliness, cares for equipment, follows restraint policy, assists with post-mortem care, ensures fresh water, cleans waste containers, assists with rehabilitation, reports to oncoming staff, and agrees to transfer restrictions.
Job Requirements
- Must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must graduate from a NA1 training program and pass state test within 4 months.
- Must care for geriatric patients with genuine concern for their welfare.
- Must be willing to follow orders, work cooperatively, and respect all parties.
- Must be able to operate equipment safely and maintain personal hygiene.
- Must wear approved uniform and demonstrate neat appearance.
- Must adhere to policies and attend training sessions.
Qualifications
Graduated from a NA1 training program, passed state test, 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent, genuine concern for geriatric patients, willingness to follow orders, cooperative attitude, ability to operate equipment safely, neat appearance, adherence to policies, and attendance at training sessions.
Skills
