Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
• Help clients with mobility and transfers, including using a wheelchair or walker
• Auxiliary clients with meal preparation and feeding
• Provide medication reminders
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and cleaning
• Document client care and progress in a timely and accurate manner
• Communicate with office staff, RNs and family members as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a CNA or prior CNA/PCA experience
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Able to pass a national background check and drug test
• Able to lift and move clients as needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Physical Demands

• The PCA will be required to lift and move clients, as well as perform other physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching
• The job may also require standing or walking for extended periods of time

Work Environment

• The PCA will work in clients' homes
• The job may require exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials
