PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT EXED

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

• To assist students with disabilities with classroom activities, modifications, transportation, and personal care needs as directed by the teacher.
• This person is assigned to one (1) or more students with unique needs and may be required to move with student(s) if the school site changes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A high school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required.
• Experience in working with children.
• Experience in working with persons with disabilities.
• A strong desire to work one-on-one with a student.
• A valid Florida Driver License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Ability to work effectively with children and teachers.
• A willingness to learn the unique educational and/or personal needs to assist a student with a disability.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
