About the role
We are seeking a Personal Care Assistant responsible for providing essential personal care services to clients in a home care setting.
Responsibilities
- Follow the client’s aide plan and complete daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheets.
- Assist with personal care such as bathing, grooming, ambulation, meal preparation (including special diets), feeding, oral hygiene, and transfers using assistive equipment.
- Ensure safety, follow infection control procedures, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Support clients with self-help activities and respect their privacy and confidentiality.
- Monitor client conditions, report any concerns or unusual changes to the supervisor.
- Assist with secondary tasks like laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal prep as needed.
- Only assist with self-administration of medications and do not administer medications directly.
- Adhere to scope of practice, policies, and procedures, and seek guidance when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred; ability to read and write required.
- At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Strong communication, safety awareness, and ability to follow care plans.
This role reports to the Home Care Manager or designated staff, with accountability for delivering quality, client-centered care.
