Personal Care Assistant

About the role

The Personal Care Assistant role involves providing essential personal care services to clients, including bathing, grooming, ambulation, meal preparation, and assisting with feeding, while following individualized care plans.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily tasks via electronic systems
• Encourage client self-help
• Ensure safety and infection control
• Maintain a clean, safe environment
• Respect client confidentiality
• Adhere to scope of practice—only aiding with medication self-administration
• Report any concerns regarding client wellbeing, safety, or privacy breaches

Requirements

• At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions

Qualifications

Focus on providing quality, respectful, and safe care within established protocols. Accountability is to the Home Care Manager and staffing supervisors, ensuring proper communication and adherence to policies.
